Aero Group, Woodland's parent company, has been a dominant entity in the outdoor shoe industry since the early 1950s. The company, which started in Quebec, Canada, expanded its presence in the Indian market in 1992. Previously, Aero Group mainly focused on exporting its leather shoes to Russia. Following the division of Russia into several states and the formation of the USSR, the group took a strategic decision to introduce some of its products in the Indian market. Subsequently, the introduction of the first hand-stitched leather shoes proved to be a ground-breaking moment, attracting the attention of the entire shoe market and establishing the brand 'Woodland'.
